The Harbor School believes that a quality education is the outgrowth of a partnership between the family and the School. The Harbor School sees parents as partners in their children's education. Thus, consistent and constructive communication between school and home is key to all endeavors. Individual parent-teacher conferences are held twice a year and more frequently if requested.
There is a strong tradition of parental involvement and support at The Harbor School.
- Parents serve on The Harbor School Board of Trustees, and in some instances parents who are not Board members may sit on committees of the Board
- There is an active Parents Association (PA) whose main goals are to build and strengthen the Harbor community and to raise funds for the School. A highlight of the year for the PA is the annual Auction, and
- Weekly Communication through an all-school newsletter, Harbor Highlights, as well as a classroom newsletter provides information about important events.
