The Harbor School Summer Camp
We are delighted that you are interested in The Harbor School summer camp. We promise your child’s camp experience will be filled with fun, frolic, and friendship with many exciting adventures! Shelley Lowinger, the Physical Education and Creative Movement teacher at The Harbor School, will be directing the fun-filled summer. We will once again be offering our very popular preschool day camp as well as offering a specialized camp for our older friends. In addition, we are very excited to announce a new summer program called Wiggles & Giggles. Our Wiggles & Giggles program is a child and adult class open to children ages 18 months through 2 ½ years of age. We will be participating in a variety of activities including: story time, songs, art, water play, outside fun, and creative movement games. Wiggles & Giggles will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 11:00 am – 11:50 am. The cost of Wiggles & Giggles is $30.00 per day or $60.00 per week. (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
We have already started planning the exciting daily activities for our preschool day camp such as: arts & crafts, games, water play, dramatic arts, outside fun, sports, games, story time, and more! Our preschool day camp is open to all children ages 2 ½ – 5 years of age. Children must be turning three years old before December 31, 2010.
Our specialty camps are open to children 5 years old through 9 years old. A wide variety of specialty camps will be offered at Harbor School this summer. Our specialty camps include:
- Exploring the World of Math and Computers- This camp will offer creative math exercises, computer games, and unique scientific experiments in this fun and educational week of camp.
- Spectacular Sports and Great Games– Children will participate in so many exciting games such as: basketball, hockey, kickball, t-ball, soccer, and more. This camp promises to be filled with lots of exercise, sports, and games.
- Musical Journey– Your child will be on center stage in this creative camp. Children will be in the spotlight participating in storytelling, singing, movement / dance, performing, musical instrument making, and dramatic arts activities.
- Artistic Adventures – Children will create beautiful masterpieces in this art program that is sure to be filled with many different types of art projects.
- Creative Cooking – Delicious & nutritious food will be prepared in this fantastic camp! You won’t have to cook dinner tonight – your children will!
- Book Club – Children will collaboratively read popular children’s books, and then participate in in-depth discussions about the book. This book promises to be fun, but also educational as well!
- The Magical World of Science – Children will be investigating, exploring, creating, measuring, and discovering wonderful inventions in this thrill seeking program.
- All Around the World- Hola, Bon Jour, Shalom are just a few of the new words children will learn in this exciting class. This class will explore culture, games, art, dance, music, cooking, and the history of different countries!
The cost for the preschool day camp and our specialty camp is $340.00 per week which includes all materials, supplies, and snacks. There is no camp on Monday, July 5, 2010. Summer camp for the week of July 6th will be $272.00. Registrations for both of our camps are on a weekly basis, so sign-up for the weeks that fit your schedule. We do require all emergency cards, medical, and health forms be completed and returned to The Harbor School before the start of camp in order for your child to participate in our programs. Full payment and the camp application form are due at the time of registration. We do require a minimum of 4 weeks written and oral notice by the first day of your registered camp week for any requested refunds. We do ask that all children who participate in our summer programs (except for Wiggles and Giggles) come completely potty trained and with an extra set of clothing for any unforeseen accidents. Our preschool and specialty camps start at 9:00 am and end at 12:00 noon.
We are offering an aftercare option for our older campers ages 3 and older. Aftercare will be available Monday through Friday from 12:00 noon – 5:30pm. If your children participates in our extended day option, please pack a lunch and drink. We politely request that you respect The Harbor School's no nut policy when packing lunches. The cost of our extended day program is $15.00 per hour or $75.00 a day from 12:00 noon – 5:30 pm.
The Harbor School Summer Camp is open to all. Our camps are a fabulous way for new Harbor School students to become familiar with our school building, make new friends, and meet some of our talented teachers and staff. The Harbor School summer camps are also a wonderful way to encourage our returning students to continue friendships made throughout the year, have fun in a classroom with different teachers, and continue the warm, safe, and comfortable feeling we all have when we are at The Harbor School. Whether you are enrolled at Harbor or not, you will enjoy all that the Harbor Summer Camp has to offer.
